“The social psychology of this century reveals a major lesson: often it is not so much the kind of person a man is as the kind of situation in which he finds himself that determines how he will act.”—Stanley Milgram (via iamthegirlanachronism)
Oh wow! My Spanish heart weeps for you Rafa! I haven’t seen a Men’s Final’s like this in a very long time. It was a greulling struggle played over just under six hours. My hat’s off to both Djokovic and Nadal for for putting their bodies on the line and going to the peak of human exhaustion to give a sensational 2012 Australian Open Final. As much of a Rafa fan as I am, I must say that Djokovic was the deserved winner. The brutality and the drama were fantastic. I think we are going to have to get ready to see matches similar to this. With the kind of tennis these two have been playing, another match like this is certainly not out of the question. It was good to see Rod Laver there and the fantasy of all my daydreams as a youth, the Swiss Miss, Martina Hingis. A great match for the centenary. Congratualions and commiserations Novak and Rafa!
